Aleph – Analisi Strategiche is pleased to announce a new event titled Counterterrorism in Europe – Causes and Problems of a New Changing Legal Framework”.
The event, which will be held in English, covers the issues relating to the policies implemented by different European nations to contrast and prevent threats. Our guests will try and analyse the trends in legal and policy developments in European countries since 2015 on the subject of counterterrorism and radicalization, how effective they have proven to be, as well as the potential issues concerning human rights and the rule of law.
There will be three guests at the event. All our guests are highly specialized int he fields of International law and Counterterrorism. They all have written and worked on the questions posed by the event’s title, and will provide very interesting insights on how this issue is tackled by academic institutions.
The first is Rebecca Mignot-Mahdavi: International Law and Counterterrorism researcher at T.M.C Asser Institute, research fellow and the International Center for Counterterrorism and she was once also a research fellow at the Institute for Strategic Research, the French Defense Ministry’s research center.
The second in Marco Lombardi: Sociology professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, member of the Palazzo Chigi Commission for Strategies Against Terrorism and Radicalization and member of the Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ministry’s Comitato di Riflessione e Indirizzo Strategico (CRIS).
The last guest is our moderator Leonardo Borlini, associate professor of International Law at Bocconi University.
